What is that crusty stuff in your eye in the morning?!

Question: The past week and a half ive been waking up with "sleep" in my eyes, that crusty stuff that holds my eyes shut when i wake up. Is that caused from tears in your sleep or what could it be?

your eyes get watery while u sleep and then it dries!!...maybe because of what u dreamed!!
