Ear Cartlidge piercings question?!

Question: I have my cartlidge in my right ear pierced twice. The lower one is just fine. the upper one still tends to have a bump behind it and can be very sore. I have had the peircing since last June, so its not like its brand new or anything. What can I do to ease the pain a little bit and get rid of the bump? ( I know the bump can be a sign of infection, but they aren't red or oozy or anything, just crusty from time to time) I don't want to lose my cartlidge piercings, I really like them! so help!
I also know the rule that you shouldn't get them on the side you tend to sleep on but I did it anyway. I haven't had too many problems, except lately.

1. if you're cleaning it with the antiseptic they give you for pierced lobes, stop and clean with salt water and saline solution.

2. go to your doctor and get them to perscribe you with a cream. when i had a bump on mine, i put some of the cream on every night and it went away quickly.

go 2 ur doctor it could be infected

Wash it out and seek medical attention right away.

i don't know what is up with the uper cartlidge piercings... I got one too and have been having similar problems like the pain and things. Make sure that you are still turning it... I know your not really suppose to but take your earring out and soak it in alcohol and spray some of the ear care stuff on your ear and earring... you may have some hair tangled up on the earring and that's what is causing part of the pain. Make sure you keep turning it too like your supposed to.

I appreciate that you like to keep up with today's fashion but, cartilages are not made to be pierced; it is dangerous, whether ear or nose, piercing can cause inflammation, infection, and - more dangerously - necrosis with loss of part of cartilagenous tissue. These habits - ear cartilage, nose, tongue, belly button piercing - are not healthy. What is wrong with necklaces and bracelets as accessories. Ear lobule (the soft fleshy part) piercing is OK; although it is seen as traditional and old fashioned, but what is wrong in being traditional.
