It depends on the type of counseling needed. There are a lot of public forums like AA, NA, WEAVE, places like that where someone can go and talk. If the person is in school, they could talk to a school counselor. You could also counsel them yourself...friends can be the best allies. If you are afraid your friend might hurt themselves, tell their parents. It's better to have your friend mad at you than be dead.
