Can running help asthma?!

Question: I have asthma during the spring because of the pollen that i'm allergic to. I only get the asthma when I run. I don't run very often but I tried to get some excersise yesterday and I had mild asthma. Will my body just get used to the pollen while running? Maybe my body and lungs isn't used to it yet?

I definitely think running more will help.

I have pretty bad asthma that i get from cats, dogs, and randomly throughout the day. Since joining cross country 2 years ago, I haven't had any more asthma attacks that I had to go to the hospital for. I still have pretty bad asthma, but running has drastically improved my asthma. It might just be that i'm in better shape, but i find i can now easily run a mild pace without any breathing problems, even when i have some asthma. Don't let asthma stop you from being in great shape, especially if it's mild. Of course, it is a bit of hard work to push through it and be consistent in running, I still use my inhaler when i run sometimes (more for faster runs and in cold weather). You could run indoors at a gym though during the pollen season if that's the only time it affects you. Make sure you start slowly though. Good Luck

no it makes it worser

I have had asthma since i was a baby ad i run cross country it will not make it better but it wont make it worse but eventually if you are healthy it will get better over the years

Yes.

In the seventh grade I had a classmate who had asthsma. He said at the end of the year it had cleared up to a point he no longer needed his inhaler and he attributed it to the running we did.

No it won't get used to it and no running makes it worse!

There is also a type of asthma that is exercise-induced, if you "only get it when you run" then that could be it. Use a bronchodilator about 15 minutes before physical activity and you might find it's quite manageable.

try antihistamine tablets like telfast, they help with pollen and most breathable allergies. or take a ventalin when you run

um. it may help if you take allergy meds and ur inhaler before you run because i have that problem to. and i jus keep pushin myself to do more. but don't kill urself doin it. it really depends on the person.

If it affects you run, as you said, then maybe you should try another aerobic activity.

Running couldnot help but yes jogging can help
