my friend had it and had a operation then she had a good recovery it took her 1 year. as for her memory we helped her showing photos and told her what they was and what they mean
I've never had a friend or anyone with brain trauma, but I have had two friends that had a brain aneurysm. They are both fully recovered, back at work and all memory is fine. It's been so long that I don't remember recover time.
A friend was beaten very badly and has never recovered, he doesnt remember some people, he is a totally different person. His injuries were so severe that he almost died several times. (he was also left beaten and not discovered for 3 days and during that time had several seizures) In his case he had to relearn everything. I think the recovery depends upon the severity. Let them be the person that they are now and help gently to remember things. It is very distubing to these people to know they should remember things or people hat they dont. Just be patient and kind and become a part of their "new" life. Form new bonds with them. Good Luck and God Bless.
