My dad has CHF?!

Question: Today he was fatiqued and looked short of breath, but he wouldnt let on. But when he layed down, all he does is PEE EVERY hour it seems. Hes been to the bathroom like 3 times already. Im guessing the water pill hes on is working? It seems like he always goes to the hospital every 2 months because his lungs fill up. And sometimes he gets tired and ends up filling up in his lungs and has to be rushed to the ER.

Last time he was there, I think they put him on 2 water pills. A strong one and another one. But tonight and lastnight all he does it pee. I think its making him miss his sleep too lol But thats a good sign peeing isnt it? I just hope this fatique will go away! It makes me worry, because hes always in denial of stuff when he isnt feeling good. hes 71 and im 16.

He also weighs himself daily, but im not sure if he is lying or not. I dont stay up long enough in the mornings to check, I always sleep in lol.

I suspect that he is on Lasix or some other diuretic. CHF patients have alot of extra fluid and they can literally drown in their own fluid if they can't expel it. Peeing is good. I'm sorry about your dad. My dad is sick too, and he also has a lot of fluid build up and needs to urinate often. He is paralyzed and has to wear an adult diaper. He is very upset about it. Give your dad as much emotional support as you can. It's very hard, and you are very young. Best wishes to you both.
