HORRIBLE BACK PAIN :( Plz help?!


Question: My worst pain... I think its because im sleeping bad or because of weigthlifting. The point is that sometimes i feel a sour pain in the back of my pain and when I "crack my back" (AS WHEN YOU CRACK YOUR KNUCKLES) it releases tension.. but I know thats bad to do. I am young 18 yrs, 6ft0 and I dont wanna end with a hernia.

I want real solutions from people who had defeated this pain in the past.

First off, if you are weight training (doing dead lifts) without a weight belt around your waist, you are wrong, wrong, wrong!!
That will cause a stress in the crux of your lower back. When I dead lift without a belt, I do no more than 45 on each side. That is only if I forget it. Other wise anything over, I have a belt on. I one time was doing a without a belt weight when a guy approached me who said he use to train in his younger days without a belt and now he is paying for it.
When I had that pain in the lower back, I was told to stretch out a night, before I go to bed. Stand straight, reach for the ceiling as best as you can. Then slowly start reaching ahead of you as you slowly lower forwards. If you can get to your toes great!
Another is to lay flat on your back. Arms out to the sides. Bring your knees to your chest, and rotate slowly side to side.
After that try straightening both legs and then bring one (maintaining straightness) and cross it over to touch your opposite hand. Alternate legs a couple of time.
Here is the best: Still laying one your back, bring your legs over your head (or close to it). Do not move your head or alter your body to the side but make sure to stay unison and straight. I noticed if I turned my head when I do this, I can get a pinched nerve in my neck and then I have a new pain! Not really a pain but its like I feel my upper neck muscles feel like when your leg goes to sleep.
Massages also help periodically when you can afford them. Accupressure ones the best massage.
Last but not least, Pray!

My son cracks his own back when it hurts also. I wish I could do mine. I go to a DO to get mine cracked. As long as it doesn't hurt when you crack it I see no harm since that is what a DO would do if your went to him with your back hurting. It's better than getting an injection of pain reliever in it. My son has done it for years and he will be 27 soon.

Lay on ice pack 10 min. on 10 min. off; Put towel around pack
Take Aleve or Advil every 4-6 hours (start with 2).
Ease up on the weights.
Use a belt.
As someone to give you a back rub.

Then go to MD :-)

I am a firm believer in seeing a chiropractor if you can afford it. Since you get relief when you crack your back, it sounds like your back is out of alignment and needs adjustment. I have had similar problems in the past and after a few visits I get relief. Good luck to ya.
