Answers: i was in hosp for a minor op and honestly the bedsheets walls and floors were all filthy it is a pure disgrace isnt it

yes i will not stay in one you come out with something else

well, I don't know which hospital you were in, but the one's I've worked in have all been maintained in spotless condition. You might want to shop around before you are admitted to another one, find one that is clean.

You should have made a complaint. Or write a letter to to the top boss of the hospital.

lol, my girlfriend cleans hospital wards, and they are mostly foreign agency workers who dont give a damn about the job.

You should have complained - still report for the next patient

I checked your profile, and it says you are in Scotland, so I don't about conditions of hospitals there, but hospitals in the US don't seem to have that problem, but they could do more to prevent infections, especially staph infections in older people.
Edit: You should report the conditions to the the health agency where you live if it was that bad.

I agree, once they got rid of sisters ,matrons and hospital cleaners that did the job properly with pride, everything went to pot.I was in hospital recently and had to get out of bed to someone with the balcony door open while they had a smoke,it was freezing and the smoke was coming in the ward.I had to thump him twice before he realised i would rather kill him, even then ,it was some time before anyone came to see what the trouble was. There were old stains on the walls and floors, phlegm and even matchsticks and two cigarrette butts, which i complained about and insisted it was cleaned up.These days ,you catch more in hospital than you do out of it.

The whole issue of the health service is a disgrace. Gordon Brown wasn't remotely interested in it until his family needed it, and then he threw money at it like there was no tomorrow and wasted it all

I think it depends on the hospital...

I also think that people need to take responsibility for their own surroundings and not leave things in a mess - that in itself would help a lot.
