Well, if you really want to know your liver function you shouldn't try to "fix" it by abstaining from alcohol prior to the test. Just do what your normal do prior to your test. If your liver is damaged or cirrhotic it will show up regardless of abstaining from alcohol for a day or week, it won't make a difference. If you are concerned about your LFT's and have had problems in the past I would stop drinking alcohol all together and give your liver a chance to repair itself. If you are a social drinker only and have liver problems it could be something else like a gallstone.
