Usually an itch or tickle in the ear canal is caused by wax trying to make its way out.

You can buy an ear wax removal kit at any drugstore. They work.

Or you can take a shower, wash your hair, and let warm water run into the ear canal over and over, loosening wax, hopefully enough to reach it gently and carefully with a Q-Tip (which they say is dangerous but every adult seems to do).

But the wax removal kit works better, I hear.

my ears itch all the time. I just attribute it to allergies. I "scratch" mine with q-tips. its the only thing that helps me. you just have to be extremely careful.

Sounds like an allergic reaction. If you don't HAVE to be anywhere in the next couple of hours, maybe take a Benedryl and see if the itching goes away. Benedryl is an antihistamine and will alleviate allergy problems... as well as make you drowsy...

Or, go to a minor emergency clinic and see if they can pinpoint the problem...

Another thing you can try is a an ear candle. They are available at helth food places and GNC.. its an age old rememdy but it really does work.
itching in the ear can be either dry skin, or from loose ear wax.. if you find that you are finding flaky skin in there then you need some drops. there are drops that you can put in to your ear to help moisturize the ear canal.

Check with your doc though it might be a sign of sebhoria, or psorisas
