I want to make an essential oil?!

Question: Out of a hyacinth. I read somewhere that you take some petals and put them in a tight jar with olive oil for thirty days.
Will it smell like hyacinth? I know that sounds dumb but I want to make sure I;m doing it correctly.
And does that sound accurate? If not what should I do?
