Anyone take Adderall?!

Question: I recently was perscribed Adderall for my ADD and am having a hard time seeing results so far. I'm seventeen.

It's my fourth day on it and I felt a period of time two days ago when I felt very ambitious to clean my bathroom, but otherwise wonder if it's just me convinced that because I took it I will do wonders. How do you know if the drug's working?

I'm currently 97 lbs on 15 mg, possible that once my doc ups my dosage I will get better results?

burgler is drawing conclusions from information he doesn't have. He doesn't know your symptoms, doctor or what you did to get diagnosed.

With these stimulant type ADHD medications you need to find the right med, the right dosage and the right schedule on when to take the right med & dosage. Many people get a solution that works for them right off the bat but I dare say that number doesn't go over 75%. Your first few months might mean several conversations and visits to your doctor.

The effects of Adderall, with me, was what happened for the first pill will happen with every pill. So it won't get better or worse with this med or dosage. However, 4 days might not have been enough time for you to figure out how it is or isn't helping you. If the side effects are not a problem then you could give it another week and see.

How do you know it is working? Try doing something you normally wouldn't do? Like, can you now read with some other noise in the room. Can you set a goal and achieve it? Have a conversation with someone and see if THEY notice something.

The other poster is right that your dosage isn't related to your body weight. They prescribed my Godson who is 5 the same dosage they started me on when I was 25.

Here's my standpoint on adderall. First off, in my highschool days I wasn't much of a student and didn't need adderall... but i took my buddies for fun.. I noticed it working and everything and felt "out of it" but also really focused. I think that it has too many negatives such as sleep deprivation, and hunger suppressant, and even an emotional suppressant to make it beneficial. My advice is to stop using that stuff and just do your best listening. The only thing that will do to you is make you think you need it to learn.. trust me, just do your best and you won't need that crap. Doctors prescribe that to anyone who asks for it. you make the decision for yourself.

Talk to your doctor if you feel it isn't helping. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get the dosage right but you'll figure it out. :)

I hope it works for you :)

Yeah, 15mg is pretty low and with Adderall, your weight is irrelevant.
