Can a horomone imbalance cause you to have panic attacks?!

Question: My mom keeps getting panic attacks.. she's 47.
they come out of nowhere and i was wondering what could be causing them? can it be her "change of life"?

Yes, it can. I have some other health issues, but since I have become"peri-menopausal"( going into minopause) I have had more panic attacks and crying for no reason. (I'm 49 by the way) My doctor says I may be like this a few years.
