Question: I recently aquired hospital reports for my grandfather this is a transcript from it:
"The patient was noted to have a significant coagulopathy with a protime of 25"
I know what most of it means but what does protime of 25 mean??

A "protime," or prothrombin time, gauges liver function by measuring how well a person's blood clots. A normal protime is usually about 11-14 seconds.
Prothrombin time of 25. Probably was on anticoagulants and maybe too much or interaction with other drugs.
