White spots on fingernails, what are they from?!

Question: I assume it's from an overabundance of something like calcium, because I had them when I was a child and now that I'm pregnant (and taking prenatal vitamins which contain much more nutrients than I need in at least several areas) I am seeing them again. I have heard that it's due to a deficiency in zinc, but my vitamin has 165% of my daily zinc needs. What do you think about all this? I guess I'm just concerned that my baby is possibly not getting enough zinc, or who knows what else. Ha! This kind of thing makes me laugh.

I am almost certain that it is calcium deposits. When I was a little girl, my dad told me it was for every lie that I told, ha! So, either you are lying A LOT, or you have extra calcium. Prenatal vitamins are awesome .. they make your hair really healthy! ( As observed from my sister's pregnancy).
Enjoy being Prego!

ask your doctor
when i was a child there was a old saying that they were from telling little white lies lol
