Freaky sleeping thing?!

Question: I was really tired today at around 11 o'clock. I went up stairs, and went to bed. I feel asleep really quickly, and I started dreaming almost immediately.

Then while dreaming, I think, because It seemed like I was either sleeping, or barely conscious; I felt like I was pinned to the ground. I tried to get out, but couldn't. Somehow, I was able to walk around all these different places, but I was still "trapped". I could feel my body struggle to move and get out of bed, but maybe it was just another realistic dream where you can feel everything.

I started yelling out for my parents to help, and I heard my mom say "I'm coming!" A while after, I "woke up" and hopped out of bed and went downstairs to get a drink. On the way I noticed my parents sound asleep with the lights off and the door closed.

It seemed like this lasted for at least an hour, but when I looked at the clock I realized it lasted about 20 minutes.

Was this some sleep paralysis, or a weird, but very realistic dream?

It is a realistic dream. I know what you mean because I have had the same kind of dreams. They are very scary when you wake up because you are not sure if you are still dreaming or really awake. There has been times when my heart feels like it is beating out of my chest my heart was going so fast. I don't have this kind of dream very often but when it does I cant wait to wake up. Just give yourself some time to focus before moving to fast.
