It is very scary stuff. It distorts your minds ability to process information that come from your 5 senses. Your sense of vision, hearing in particular become halucinations. The halucinations seem real in your mind and the the things that are real the the activity going on around you become impossible to discerne.
Your sense of time become completely irrelevant. The idea that you need to be some place at a given time isn't something that can be understood while you are tripping. When and if your trip goes bad, trying to latch on to the idea that the acid will wear off and you will be OK in a little while makes no sense. There is no past, there is no future, there is only the moment.
It is very scary and very dangerous stuff.

LOL. i remember doing it once, and it was really a strange experience. it lasted really long and all i wanted was to be off it in the end, thought it would never go away. there is a lot of hallucinations, like the ceilings and walls would move and close in on me, i would go to the washroom and be caught staring at the painting on the wall because it was moving, i was given a tiny piece of carrot cake and it looked like a frog, i felt like i was taking apart its legs. very strange. i would stare and tears would run down my face. i don't think i would ever do it again. messed up! :{
