I used both when I was in the UK, up to now living in Spain I have only been private, but we are just about to go on the NHS here, which is great as private is very expensive.

there are a number of ways to get health care, 1) though your employer. 2) through a pivate company, eg bupa. and 3) just stick to the nhs who might give you an appoinment, from their long waiting list, a few years after you have already passed away.but i know that the best choice is bupa because iv'e had health care through then for my back problem and they treated me like royalty, bless.

The option is there if you want to take it, but most people especially Asylum seekers tend to use the NHS. The funding for this service is deducted from every bodies income.
My brother has it through his work which I'm jealous about, otherwise I dont know anybody else!
NHS, it may not be perfect but it is still able to cope with most things.

and when my dad was in a a car accident, he was treated on NHS
and my sister has a weak eye and she is treated on NHS.

I don't believe in those, if you ever need extensive treatment, they just push you onto the NHS anyway
