Why do my eyes feel like sandpaper when I'm tired?!
Question: I get that myself, so I can really relate to what you are saying.....I found out that I don't only have allergies, but I suffer from a condition called "Dry eye"...That is when your eyes don't produce enough tears which lubricate your eyes...They have eye drops on the market to help....The best one I found is called "Refresh" which is for dry eye and allergy eye...When I get "sandpaper" feeling eyes, it tends to make me tired and sleepy....I hope my input has helped you!

Because your eyes have been open too long. When you're sleeping they are protected from drying out.
