I find it hard describing pain, to a doctor, can anyone help and describe them i!

Question: you can use lots of adjectives to describe your pain which your doctor will understand. firstly the 'type' of pain - is it crushing, burning, stabbing, throbbing, tingling, aching etc etc just try and describe how it feels. also you can use words like, mild, severe, light, heavy etc. things like - how long the pain has been going on, what your doing when the pain comes on and what if anything makes it go away are all questions asked to assess pain by medical staff x

If your pain is more of a chronic nature, keep a journal or diary of it. The date, time, how it started, what type of pain it is (burning, stabbing, throbbing, aching, etc.), Where the pain is and if it radiates to other areas. Also, make sure you explain how often it happens. That way the doctor will know more of the type and location of the pain and can help you with pain relief.

I hope you can get this resolved . Good Luck with it.
