What's an EEG like? Loss of vision?!

Question: My child needs one and it seems so complicated. They won't let her sleep and the doctors are just bombarbing me with random stuff. She got up one morning not being able to see...she said she can see splotches of color, but that's about it. Her teachers have been making her text huge and she's getting sick because the vision is making her head hurt so bad she is always sick to her stomach. I'm just worried and wish I had an answer...the test is just one more thing.

An EEG is an electroencephalogram. It measures the activity of the brain. The test is often performed on a person who hasn't slept because sleep deprivation makes it more likely for an anomalies, such as a seizure, will occur. It is not painful, and involves applying sensors to the scalp in multiple locations to pick up electric activity. I hope this helps and I hope your daughter gets well soon!

I just had an EEG 2 weeks ago. It's an ultrasound of the heart. It's a simple test that shows an in depth look at how the heart works and each valve of the heart. It makes sure there are no problems on how the heart is working. It's just the ultrasound thing against your skin.

I hope they find out what is wrong soon and help her.
