My friend was sick with what she thought was an ear infectiong 3 weeks ago...?!

Question: She went to her ear doctor and had done a hearing test.
She is deaf in her right ear and had 80% left in her left ear.
Her test came out and showed that she lost 25% of that 80% so it is done to 55%.

Do you think that that is permanant? and Is that 55% really a small or big number?

Well, 55% is a little more than half. She must see an ear specialist ASAP. Perhaps something can be done to save her hearing. At worse, she can wear wonderful new hearing aids that will really help.
If this just happened out of the blue, I really feel your pain, and I wish your friend the very best of luck. She needs to see the very best ear specialists NOW. 2 or 3 opinions might be in order, unless she finds a smart doctor she really likes and trusts.

Only the doctor can answer if this is permanent. That's why the timing is so important. A surgery might save her hearing.

My prayers go out to your friend, and you sound like a wonderful friend. Good luck.

It doesn't sound like it's getting better. I wish her luck with it.
It does sound permanent, but then I'm not a DR.
