Answers: i know i have a very bad case of lice but im allergic to most hair treatments what should i do ps i saw a doc but that was when they were eggs

for lice and nits DRENCH your hair in olive oil for about six hours and COVER IT TIGHT..

then give yourself a good shower with the strongest possible shampoo that won't cause you allergy.. i'd the say best is anti-residue neutrogina (which is a bit expensive)

good luck

i dont know

Wash all your sheets and everywhere your hair touches and soak your head in tomatoe juice. It works everytime

I heard that you can put mayo in your hair then put a cap on your head then wash it out. Good Luck with getting rid of those lice =]

Put mayonnaise on your hair and sleep with it like that it works trust me i read about it in a magazine.

go back to the doctor

go to your local health store and ask them for a natural alternative to rid. They'll be glad to help

use the eggs

well you should go see the dr again ..if your allergic to treatments i would see a diffrent dr if he didnt give you anything

Ok, so did the doctor suggest anything.? Or did u not even ask about the lice problem?
Rid worked when i caught lice in high school, u really should find out what ingredient u are actually allergic to, then u can find a treatment without that ingredient. Lice are only going to multiply in your head, and you are going to spread it to others as well.
Get some help with that!
OH and puts lots and lots of baby oil or olive oil cuz they lice wont be able to hold onto the strands of hair, this works!

shave your head,or buy the lice treatment

Go to the doctor again...
Find a treatment you're not allergic to, or just do it the long way... get a special brush... they will go away, eventually.

Ok but then the doctor should have told you what to do when they were eggs.........what did he say to do?
What kind of allergy -- is it deadly? Because the lice medication is all there is to use and someone needs to be combing your hair and pulling them out. It will just get worse and worse until you treat it. The doctor had to give you SOME idea.

ovide is a prescription treatment, but contains pesticides. It kills everything!! If you can't do that oil, shower cap, 24 hours and comb, comb, comb. They have a rid comb set for ten dollars and it'll pull everything out.

Go to WalMart and get some Cetaphil. Rub it in your hair and then blow dry - it will kill the lice and the eggs. You can look it up on the internet. It has no pesticide in it. I have heard you can use crisco or mayonaisse, coat your hair in it and sleep with a shower cap on, then wash it out in the morning and it will suffocate the lice - but it takes a lot of washings to get it out of your hair.

go see the doctor again...one that knows you well.

ewwwwww this is gross!!!!no offense hunn but what you need to do is go to the doctor about that and they will tell you what to get!!!

go to a natural store, or look online for a more gentle treatment. I've had lice and they do not go away w/out treating them and combing with those itty bitty combs. I even tried olive oil once, and combed....did not work. good luck:(

Find a nitpicking service around your area. Lice is so expensive to get rid of, but it's worth it. If you can find someone to come to your house, they can customize shampoos and such for your unique situations and I bet would gladly accommodate your allergies.

there's a myth that mayo works....i'm a little iffy....honestly, take a comb...go to the bathroom...soak your hair in water....as hot as you can handle...then comb it out...also...cut your hair as short as you can go...it makes it easier to take lice out....

That it prtty grosso and uber dis dis!! :P but i thought vinager worked or somthing...

Any drugstore will sell a lice treatment...in the shampoo section. Test to see if you're allergic to it first....rub a little on the inner part of your elbow and let it sit (they say 48 hours, but you'll see results in just a couple of minutes if you're allergic). If there's no irritation, you're safe to use it. If there is, try a different brand. If you can't find anything, you'll need to see your doctor again.

well one way is to sit and pick them out one by one.. but in my personal experience... straightening my hair very regularly... i think burns them off?... good luck!

Well you can try the oil or vaseling treatment where you put a lot of oil or vaseline on your hair and cover it all night supposedly it smothers them. Keep oil in your hair and they should go away. Most black people dont get them as they keep oil in there hair...sooo try it...

short of burning everything you own, the best advice is from a pharmacist ... good luck, dear!

Unsure, I know flea and tick shampoo works also. However, if you are really allergic, as in swell up, hives, rash, and can't breathe, you should see a specialist. If it just irritates your skin, that is normal. Just use it. Just remember it isn't just about getting it all out of your hair. You also have to wash or throw away all hair ties, combs, pillow cases, blankets, clothes, anything that touches you. Pillows or anything not washable should be put into a dark trash bag into a dark closet for 2 weeks.

This happened to my son and I will tell you exactally what to do and they will never come back.
wet hair with vinigar -let sit about 10 min
then put olive oil over top and comb out all nits and lice.
Wash hair with Tea tree oil shampoo (paul mitchell tea tree works great)
Put a thick conditioner in your hair (any kind but the tea tree one is best) cover your hair with a plastic cap and sleep in it.
Wash your hair daily with the tea tree shampoo and conditioner until you have no more nits.

Lice don't like Tea tree oil so it's the best remedy. Also they don't like lysol so spray down your furniture really well!!! Change your sheets and buy new pillows or put them in the dryer on high for 30 mins.

Good luck.. we had them once and will NEVER get them again because our whole family now uses tea tree shampoo!!!!!!

Dear Gloria F,
I'm not from the south, but I've heard of white vinegar curing everything.
My advice, go back to the doctor. They should have given you instructions as to how to care for your combs, brushes, linen and clothing.
Best of luck to you. And follow those instructions diligently.

Well, we've had this run through our home a few times...it's really crappy to have to deal with!! My daughter has very long hair and has sensative skin along with ecxema. We've used olive oil before...this supposedly chokes them out...smothers them. My most recently discovered treatment is as follows: ( I found this on line but can't remember what web site) We use cetaphil miosturizer all the time on my daughter...no perfumes or dyes.

Cetaphil? Gentle Skin Cleanser
Step 1:
Pour 8 oz of Cetaphil into the condiment dispenser

Step 2:

STEP 2
Apply the Cetaphil to dry hair. Start at the left of the scalp. Make sure the nozzle is always touching the skin. Apply the lotion zigzag back and forth from front to back and then back to front. Apply to the entire scalp as you move forward until you reach the front of the scalp. Use 1/4 of the bottle.

Step 3:

STEP 3
Now start at the back of the scalp. Again make sure the nozzle is always touching the skin. Change the direction of your zigzagging application now to
