What to do when visiting someone in the hospital?!

Question: My best friend is in the hospital. I went to visit her yesterday with two friends and she asked me to come back today to keep her company. I'm printing out mad libs and I'm trying to think of a movie to bring with me because she has a DVD player in her room.

What else can I bring?/What else can we do?

She's pretty much constricted to her bed. She has severe migraines and is very dizzy. She's also in alot of pain from a spinal tap she had recently.

I've been a hospital patient quite a few times, and while I appreciated visitors, I did get tired. Don't over do it. If your friend seems to get tired, either leave for a little (you can go to the hospital canteen), or just sit quietly so she can rest. Before you bring lots of junk food, make sure she is not on a restricted diet, or she doesn't have some test scheduled where she should not eat or drink. If she has headaches, she may not appreciate music and noise right now. She probably is somewhat scared and a little bored and just wants you there with her. Since she's your best friend, I'm sure you can think of things to talk about.

think of something that u think will make her feel happy by the way she is

Bring a list of phone numbers and a cell so you can call everyone you know.

Bring lots of good foods, chips, cookies, maybe food from her fav fast food joint.

Photos of family and friends.

A pot of flowers with a mylar balloon

You should try playing easy mind games (like questions /answers of "what famous person would you want to marry? or what movie would you loved to have been in?) You could also bring a board game - a game where she only has to roll the dice and you can move her piece around. You could find some embarrasing storys online to read to her. Hope this helps.

cards games,read to her
and all the stuff you mentioned above

The best thing you can do for your friend is be there for her.

companionship is most important for her at the moment. and i'm sure she'll really appreciate you just visiting her.
