Can your menstrual cycle effect your blood glucose levels?!

Question: I am not diabetic. I have had two episodes in my life where I started to feel woozy and i felt like my head was in a tunnel, and I knew my blood sugar was getting low so I ate some food and was better.

this week, twice, I have almost gotten to that point and I hurried up and had orange juice and then some yogurt or cottage cheese. I am also in the week prior to my cycle beginning. I was wondering if the menstrual cycle can effect your blood glucose levels sometimes, more than other times of the month. I know it can effect the iron levels in your body.

Also, I'm under a lot of stress, so maybe that did it?

It sure can. I am a type 1 diabetic and usually the week before my blood sugars drop and I need a lot less insulin. Stress can mess with your blood sugars also, although for me it usually has the opposite effect and I run high.

Well of course it does in more ways than just the loss of blood during the period time

The elevated excitement of the internal body clock is tick tick tick then the tock tock tock so you see it is all kind of out of wack till it gets back into the 28 days between cycle time again
