Why is it healthy to be regular?!


Question: You know, "taking a dump" or, "the number two." I heard somewhere that it's best to do it after each meal. Is this true and what are the health benefits of being regular?


Answers: You know, "taking a dump" or, "the number two." I heard somewhere that it's best to do it after each meal. Is this true and what are the health benefits of being regular?

It is important to move the bowels at least three times a week. 3 times a day sounds fantastic to me !! But it's not essential to eliminate after each meal.

As other posters have already said, toxins will accumulate and may cause problems. Ailments that are caused by constipation are diverticulosis, hemorrhoids, hernia, boils, bowel cancer, cellulite, indigestion, obesity, varicose veins, headaches, bad breath, insomnia and gas.

Diet can both prevent and cure constipation so eat more foods rich in magnesium as magnesium will increase the production of hydrochloric acid in your tummy and thus aid in digestion..... the more fibre in your diet from fruits, vegies, legumes and whole grains, the softer and the larger the amount of feces will be passed.

foods rich in magnesium are ~ leafy and green vegies, nuts and seeds, wholegrain cereals and breads and cold water fishes such as tuna, sardines, salmon and whiting.

eat more foods rich in Vitamin C also as vitamin C is a natural laxative ie ~ citrus fruits such as lemons, limes, oranges, leafy and green vegies, red and green peppers, strawberries and blackberries.

Pump up your intake of fresh filtered water too as the healthiest and happiest body will always be the most hydrated one.......... you need at least 2 litres daily just to maintain aspiration (to breathe)!! So drink at least 2 - 3 litres daily.

Cut back on dehydrating drinks such as coffee, tea, sodas and soft drinks and alcohol (if you drink any) too.

Benefits?? you'll have more energy, clearer thought patterns and less chance of being irritable and moody ....... as well as less chance of being diagnosed with any of the abovementioned ailments .......... besides, being sluggish and constipated produces a nasty feeling over your entire body to say the least ?

Depends on how often you have to go. It's pretty noxious stuff...do you really want that stuff building up in you?

Being regular rids the body of toxins that are processed & filtered thru the liver & are the wastes that the blood empties in the liver & kidney.

Bowel obstruction...worse than constipation can be life threatening.

Drink at least 8 glasses of water/day & eat some whole grains or fiber (dark green veggies)...with each meal.

People who are regular are less likely to get colon cancer.

The longer that waste remains in your colon the more it creates and releases decomposition productst that can cause cancer.
