Answers: How many Un-circumcised Boys and/or Men wish they would have been circumcised at BIRTH now that you are older?

I had both my sons circumcised at birth and wouldn't change it for anything. my husband is also circumcised and has no regrets either. I do believe it is the parents choice if they want to have it done at birth or leave it up to their sons.

screw you people that give me a thumbs down on this it was our decision as it is your decision if you have your sons done or not. you don't need to give me a thumbs down just because I had my boys done.

Men should be circumcised, especially if they want me to go down on them. That extra skin is nasty.

I believe it should remain the decision of the individual concerned later in life.To bestow your belief onto another person, regardless of obvious connections is unthinkable !

yes!! i know someone who was circumcised later on (age 10) & he said it was the most horrible thing he ever had to go through.
YES YES YES circumcise at birth, or he'll feel insecure about his penis.

I have no opinion since I was circumcised at birth. I have always practiced good personal hygiene but my wife says that she learned that an uncircumcised man could harbor bacteria and could cause a female to have problems. Again, I do not know but it makes sense

I don't think any uncircumcised man would ever wish they were circumcised for anything other than health reasons. It is the way we are made. The skin protects the head of the penis. If you don't clean it it could cause health issues but it is supposed to be their. It should be up to the father. My wife and I fought forever because she thought it would be better for health reasons and that was simply not a fight I was going to give up just to make her happy. But I am 28 and never had any problem. It is so sensitive when pulled back I couldn't imagine it missing. It is a dramatic experience for a newborn. That is a lot of pain for the most sensitive part of their body. If you are not sure let him have the choice when he is older. Would you want to be circumcised? They do have female circumcisions too in some cultures. Good luck.

No. Also, notice that only one of your answers so far comes from an uncircumcised man- and he'd prefer to stay the way he is! -Neb

We had our son circumcised at birth. The extra skin can collect bacteria, and get infected easily. I can't remember all of what our doctor told us of the pros and cons, but that is one of them that I did remember. :-)
No regrets from my hubby either. :-)

I think this is obsurd when people say that it is the choice of the parents . I believe tat everything should be left untill the child is able to make his own mind up and opinions on things. Like religion i was never christened as a kid because my parents wanted me to me the decision whether or not i believed in any religions. If you feel you want to be circumcised then you should think long and hard and way up the pros and cons. If you lose your foreskin it could be life changing, what if you dont feel comfortable with it gone its irreplaceable . If it is causing you health issues still have a long hard think about it.

I'm Anti

I'm uncut..

People Claim it lowers the chance of a person catching STI's, Yet ..

America Has one of the highest amount circumcised males, and highest amount of Aid, HIV and other STI's. So If you think about it .. IT doesn't reduce STI chances.

Whats the point of having a dried out, scarified penis that doesn't work properly?

I think its cruel too, That a bigger person, straps a little person down, and basically tortures them. I believe one of the number 1 sayings for a doctor about a patient is "Do no harm" .. yet they're doing harm

I mean, how much of my little finger could you chop of before it becomes a human rights issue?

And now apparently it reduces the chances of a getting cancer .. Maybe because more people in the world are uncircumcised, therefor, comparing the cancer counts of uncircumcised men and cicumcised would be unequal and unfair due to the numbers being no way near equal

I makes me laugh when women say its better for their sons when they have no idea what having a penis is like, I'd love to see the reaction and outcry if fathers were suddenly allowed to enforce and demanded their daughters to be circumcised

I've watched a baby being circumcised on "Birth as we know it" and I can safely say .. I'd rather eat my own puke then see one again

circumcision should be done right away,my first son wasn't and he had so many problems that,he had to have it done when he was 6 yrs.old, and it was torture!

I don't. I'm 34 years old & happy. Growing up in the 70's when the rates were at an all time high was an educational experience. I love myself the way I am, I love my parents for raising me the way they did. I think it sucks when I see people telling expectant parents "Have your kids cut or they'll hate you later." as if its inevitable. The fact that some men choose to be cut as adults in no way indicates that those who do not, are uncomfortable with their status.

Not my boyfriend and all intact men I've spoken to about this issue, that's for sure, all happily intact. Anyway even if they complain about it, it is unfortunate but they can get it done, under anaesthetic, whenever they want. I have heard loads of men be unhappy they were circumcised at birth, and despite foreskin restoration, they can never really get it back, so they are stuck! check out http://www.norm.org for stories from some of those men. I wouldn't feel comfortable making that decision for my children at birth, on the rare chance any of them wish it had been done, I would apologise but be happy for them to do it after age 18, might even pay for it. I would be devastated if a circumcised son said they would rather be intact.

I am so glad that I was not circumcised at birth. I can't belive that so many American boys have that done to them for no reason. The foreskin is one of the most sensitive parts of the penis and I personally can't imagine it NOT being there nor having the head exposed all the time! That would seem to be very uncomfortable for me. I personally see no reason for circumcision and apparently neither do most Europeans. Why does it seem that only Americans have foreskin problems and nobody else does? Hmmm!

I'm pretty sure that there are more circumcised guys (like me) who would have wished to remain intact (seeing has how they did not have the chance to choose one way or the other).

In any case, this is the real reason why I strongly disagree with circumcision at birth:

I'm a circumcised man who wished he'd been left intact. I hate feeling mutilated like this.
Circumcision is the amputation of the foreskin, not extra skin but an integral part of the penis; measuring 15 square inches in an adult and accounting for over half the penile skin, lots of specialised nerve endings and the most sensitive parts of the penis.
Not one medical organisation in the world recommends routine infant circumcision anymore but the US is the last western nation still doing this to about 50% of its newborn males. They still don't generally use anaesthetic either. It's child abuse, pure and simple.
The penis forms as one organ and at birth the foreskin is usually fused to the glans like a fingernail to its finger. So there is no cavity for germs and dirt to collect in until it separates naturally later. Only the boy himself should retract it and then he can be taught to skin back and rinse with plain water regularly.
Misguided attempts to retract too early, often by doctors and nurses, are the main cause of damage to boys
