I'm going to have a drug test tomorrow....?!

Question: Over the last 3 days I have had cold/allergy like symptoms. I didn't (and don't) know what was causing them so one day I took a cold medicine, the next day I took an antihistamine and today I had some cough syrup. Will these negatively affect my drug test?

nope you will be fine

They are going to ask you to tell them any meds you have taken over the past week. Tell them and they will be able to tell the difference between cold medicine and allergy pills and crystal meth, etc

It might and you might want to mention that to the person giving it so they could make note of it.

Before the test, they always ask if you're on any kind of medication. Since you know it's coming, write down exactly what you're taking, because different brands have different things in them.

The reason you want to let them know which brands and how much you're taking is because people have tried to get around the tests by saying they're on cold medicine before, but above a certain amount of some chemicals looks suspicious.

An employer may not be able to fire you for taking certain legal drugs, but the levels of them may indicate whether or not they might have problems with you that don't have to do with getting high.

One of the things that springs to mind is the problem of anorexia. Many places that employ young women want to know if someone they've hired has an eating disorder and might have too many sick days or be cranky and mean to customers. Drug testing is one way to find out if someone has been stacking.
