How to convert mg to ml?!

Question: Ok, heres my problem. I got some medication for a sick dog from the vet. He gave me syringe , but they are in ml. The directions on the medications are in mg. My dog is 10 lbs. The directions say 25 mg per 5 lbs. The other medications says 3mg per pound. I am having a real hard time converting them, and the vet is closed today! Thanks a lot!!

for water, 1mg = 1 ml.

for medicine. i think you should call the vet's office and ask what conversion, if any, you should use.
