My spine sticks out when I sit in a chair and...?!

Question: It's really bothersome sometimes. It hurts sometimes when I sit because my spine is like against the chair.

I'm not anorexic at all, so before you go saying "OMGZ ANOREXIA!" let me make it clear for you, I am like 5'2 or 5'3 and weigh like 115, not anorexic.

Does anyone know what I should do about this spine issue?

Don't slouch, and I don't mean that negatively. Most back discomfort is due to posture.

wear thicker clothing

me too! i think it happens to everyone

Yes. You must see your internist who should refer you to both an Orthopedist and a neurologist. It may be due to spinal deviation backwards or on any side. And I am sure you can make out however little, which side it sticks out!!! Well get all your necessary tests and investigations done. And if you you have more questions feel free to contact me. Please ensure you ask your doctor to do your calcium blood count. If it is 10 it is fine, but if it is less take atleast two glasses of 1 percent or fat free vit. D milk. It will help your bones to get sturdier. A good brand Calcium with V. D would be very helpful. Please do not take it lightly becauses any pressure against the spine grazes the vertebra and ultimately the spinal cord. Thanks again.

it happens to me. but only on hard wooden chairs. not the soft, cushony chairs.

Posture may have something to do with it. I have awful posture, and I know exactly what you're talking about!

i have the same problem too. it's not a big deal, try to sit straighter though. not only will it help your back, but sitting straight also helps your breathing.
it will make you relax more and make you feel better.
good luck :)

When that happened to my little brother, he had to sleep on an extremely flat bed. My mom massaged it and then a few weeks later, it went back to normal.
Either that, or you have scoliosis.
