buy a big knife or a gun, and get better locks
nvm/ you're only 15, you cant do either

ok, being afraid of the dark is normal. About 5.3 million Americans ages 18 to 54 suffer from social phobia, one of which is nyctophobia (fear of the dark). as far as fear of facing your window, try re-arranging your room so that you don't look at the window while you sleep. good luck

it will go away as u get older if ur too scared go sleep in ur parents' room. it will be ok. i used to be scared also but u eventually become susceptible of the fear.

Can you move to a room that doesnt have any windows? Sleep with the TV also.

Sleep with a gun under your pillow.

curtains. they help. sorry to not have some amazing answer. oh, and GO HERE-

Its ok, of being afraid.
I would do all the things that you do but I would be more afraid.
Luckily he didnt kill you or abduct you, Luckily the window was locked.
To not be afraid of this happening ever again;
Lock your windows,
Have your mobile or a cordless home phone next to you.
Be prepared.

Hope you get better mate,

Cheers,

ask your parents to let you go see a counselor. seriously. this isnt your fault, but talking to a professional will definitely help you with this understandable fear. And there is nothing wrong with seeking help for something that could potentially get worse as you age.

It is all in your head, until you can accept that nothing will happen like that to you again you cant move on. Sleep with the T.V. or radio on so you dont feel alone or something like that.

Really, it would be highly unlikely for something like that to happen to you, especially if nothing has for eight years since then.

close ur shades at night and listen to music on ur ipod or mp3 player if u have one. if u dont, listen to a boombox, stereo, etc. or some type of music when u r sleeping, but make sure its a low volume and that u put it on sleep mode so it turns off after a certain amount of time. the music will help u tune out any suspcious nosies that might scare u. also, with the shades closed, u cant worry about anybody staring at u. and also remmber that it is very very very unlikely that that will happen again.

you needto take counsaling classes&sleep with the tv on for now

i think u should keep emergency stuff under ur bed or somewhere so u can always be saftey!! But sleep with the TV on it always helps me to go to sleep and have a cellphone buy you in case u need to call the cops and u should probaly move to a room with No windows soo u can be safe!!!

Tell your dad or mom to get you a gun for your birthday-something small maybe just a 22-or you could get a guard dog, put some bars over your bedroom windows-take some karate classes, join the neighborhood watch-if you're 15 you should be able to defend yourself fairly good against any attacker-if not take the self-defense classes, if you still don't feel good about it get your self that 22 long rifle

You have to make yourself feel secure. Make sure the windows are locked. It will make you feel better. The man will probably never come back. Having someone break into your house is 1 in 50,000. No one will probably ever break into your room ever again. Also if you are still worried you could always get some type of alarm system such as ADT or something like that.

you shouldnt worry about it! i know its something scary but it was the past:)
so try sleeping with the television or try taking a sleeping pill! i hope this helps you

Well, I'll tell you something that should ease your fear. Most windows are made of plexi from the outside. I once bounced a 50 pound boulder right off of my window to get it to break. It didn't even come close. If someone wanted to get into your room they'd need to work at it for a long time. I'm sure you'd hear them trying to get in and you can call the police right away. Also, maybe keeping a wireless phone next to your bed would help or maybe even a can of mace under your pillow? This will assure you that you have made the preperations that most 15-year-olds don't make. The kidnapper wouldn't expect it. The chances of you being kidnaped is highly unlikely, but these elements will assure you that you're safe. I hope this helps!

idk that happend to me to i was spending the night wit my fran and a couple of guys almost got in our camper we were in and the stuck something up in the door so we couldnt get out and now im scared too but yea u should think good thoughts and get something for the window

I have to admit, these kind of fears are hard to get rid of. I had a similar thing happen to me and I was scarred, but with time, I slowly grew out of it. It wasn't as bad as this though. It's a little bad that you remember it this vividly. It is a very brave thing for you to ask this. I think you should talk to a parent, but the best thing would be to check your window and think of happy things. If it makes you feel better, my uncle does this! (and he's 37)

That is a realistic fear, but you can't let it control your life like that. Look at the statistics...
Odds of getting abducted are about 1 in 10,000 or better (A rough estimate). Look at total number of abductions and the total number of children in the world.

Now, to make your odds even better, make sure your room/house is safe.
*Do you have a dead bolt on your door? If not, tell your parents to put one in.
*Get a board to put in windows in your room to prevent an outsider from being able to pick a lock and slide it open.
*Get yourself a loud, shrilly, barking dog to sleep in your room. That will alert you of a potential intruder, AND it will keep potential intruders away!

Remember, intruders go after the easiest target. It is sad that they go after anyone, but if there is easier prey, that almost makes it zero chance they'll go after you!

Oh, and consult your parents or guardians about this fear. They will help!

kind of same thing happened to my mum, she was at a bingo hall and robbers came in with knives and held it up.she was scared for about 2 years and its fading now.i think time will defenetly stop you being so scared.

My first year away at college, I walked in and some guy from my apartment complex was sitting on my couch. I don't know how he got into my house, but it freaked me out so bad! He used to wait outside of my lecture halls and everything. Ugh!

I sleep with pepper spray and a phone in my room. Also, I have these REALLY inexpensive, magnet based alarms on my windows and doors

http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/productDe...

They make me feel so much better, because I know I would hear the alarms go off, and there's no way to disarm them, because there are no wires to cut, and they are INSIDE your window. Your parents would hear it go off, too.

Also, maybe you can get a dog, and sleep with the dog in your room. That might deter someone from breaking in.

Ask them if you can get a taser, and sleep with it by your bed.

Gradually you would be able to wean yourself off of these things, but I honestly don't think sleeping with an alarm on your windows and a phone near you are unhealthy.

You should always be prepared. It can't hurt to be able to readily defend yourself.

Cheers:)
