My uvula and tonsils look sort of reddish.

sounds like strep 2.... i've had it a lot over the course of my life and if it hurts to swallow, eat, and talk, and ur throat feels like its raw... it probably is... i'm no doctor but i think you should get it checked out A.S.A.P because if it is, it is contagious and can get worse....
ps. if you develop a fever then u know it is for sure... go to the doctor!!!!!! good luck wit everything!

Try gargling with some soluble aspirin. It helps.
