that was a career i used to want to pursue..until i worked for one. i loved my job...i was a receptionist but i also administered pre-tests such as ones for peripheral vision, pressure(for glaucoma) test, and use of the auto-refractor. i did alot of other things too...but i got to see what the doctor did...and i used to think oh its just eyes...no emergency visits, or having to be on call...but its alot of numbers it seems...like for eyes..like curvature etc...it's just something that doesn't seem too challenging for me..and alot of schooling. but thats my opinion. i recommend you try job shadowing a doctor to get a better idea:)
