Wellbutrin & Dreams?!

Question: I noticed recently I've been having some trippy dreams. They're like mixtures of nightmares & bizarre type dreams in one.

I've been suffering from nightmares since January up until March (now), sorta.

So I wonder if WB is just adding strangeness to those nightmares I've already been having? Or are those dreams caused by WB?

"Abnormal dreams" are a common side effect of bubroprion/Welbutrin. The drug company GlaxoSmithKline even lists it in their package insert.

If you can tolerate them, just keep taking it as they should ease up over time.

If you can't tolerate them, or if you don't want to tolerate the dreams, ask your doctor to switch you to another anti-depressant.

If you're taking it to help you quit smoking, then try switching to Chantix (although it can cause insomnia which may be worse than the dreams!).

probably caused by the wellbutrin, many drugs are capable of causing very strange dreams.if they are too disturbing or interfere with your sleep consult your doctor and never take any drug longer than needed.good luck.

"Side effects of Wellbutrin may include:
Agitation, ....., sleep disturbances, tremor"
