What's wrong with mee???? BEST ANSWER GETS 10 POINTS!!?!

Question: Ok well I just got off a 12hour flight from LA-London. While I was in LA I picked up a conjestion cold from my babysitter. I had a small headache and a really stuffed up nose, Then on the plane I got a nose bleed, But it went away shortly, Then when I came home, I was completely fine, Then I got ANOTHER nose bleed, and that lasted a loooong time, like, over an hour, Then it finally stopped after I put ice on the side of my nose, Then I felt kinda nauseas, I just took a shower, And still feel kinda nauseas. Could this be from the long flight, jet-lag, and nose bleed all combined? or what? is it stomach flu? even tho its april....? WHAT COULD THIS BE???? I'M SCARED. PLEASE HELP.!!

Thanks. In advance. :]].

P.S. While I was having the nose bleed, A LOT was coming out so I was swallowing a lot of blood (I kno, Grossss. Sorry). Could that have anything to do with the nausea? OH! and also, I haven't vomited or anything. so ya....Lol. :].

Seems to me that you could have had your first nose bleed from the lowered pressure in the airplane cabin combined with your congestion and even fatigue. When you returned home... I am assuming you had no symptoms in London... is that right? When you returned home your nose may have started bleeding again from the strain of the long trip or something completely unrelated.

I believe your nausea was caused by swallowing blood. IMHO you aren't seriously ill. Having said that... if your symptoms continue more than a couple of days. I suggest seeing a doc, we should not be depended on for serious medical advice.

Another suggestion regarding stopping a nose bleed is to chew gum. I have found that the fastest way to stop it.

well maybe ur too up ur own ***

ok this happens when the level of the atmosphere you are in suddenly changes with is happening about this time of year and also because the altitude of being in the plane.well i hope this helped

When you have congestion, your blood vessels are FULLY dilated therefore causing mass fluid to build up in your nose. With the change in pressure in the plane, some of your vessels within your sinuses must have blown therefore causing blood to leak into your sinuses thus contributing to your nose bleed.

The cause for the delay I think could be a result of you getting better but a clot must of dislodged causing you to have the massive nose bleed or that your congestion finally went away allowing blood to drain from your sinuses. Note, your sinus cavity within your skull is extremely large.

Don't worry, the capillaries in your nose will heal in time.

whoppee, he went to london...

Sounds like a combination of pressure differences and motion sickness. When you change the presure as dramatically it can cause nose bleeds and ear aches. I recomend getting a motion sickness pill for the ride back home.

The nausea sounds like it's from the nose bleeds because you are becoming dehydrated by the fluids being relesed and i dont think you will throw up but try to drink alot of water and eat less salt. Plus it's probably partially from the jet lag
