Herion - Heroin is used as a recreational drug for the intense euphoria it induces, which diminishes with increased tolerance. Long term effects - Addiction and an increasing tolerance.
Physical dependence can result from prolonged use of all opiate and opioids, resulting in withdrawal symptoms on cessation of use.
LSD - LSD causes expansion and altered experience of senses, emotions, memories, time, and awareness for 6 to 14 hours, depending on dosage and tolerance. Long term effects - A person can experience rapidly changing feelings, immediately and long after use.
Chronic use may cause persistent problems, depression, violent behavior, anxiety or a distorted perception of time.
Large doses may cause convulsions, coma, heart/lung failure or ruptured blood vessels in the brain.
"Flashbacks" may occur long after use.

Marijauna - Smoking marijuana can relax a person and elevate their mood. This can be followed by drowsiness and sedation. Other effects include heightened sensory awareness, euphoria, altered perceptions and feeling hungry ("the munchies"). High concentrations of THC may produce a more hallucinogenic response.
Long term - Respiratory problems
Someone who smokes marijuana regularly can have many of the same respiratory problems as cigarette smokers. Persistent coughing, symptoms of bronchitis and more frequent chest colds are possible symptoms.

Ecstacy - Ecstasy produces a euphoric high that lasts from 3 to 4 hours by generating a rush of serotonin and a smaller amount of dopamine, the brain messenger molecules that help to regulate mood. Serotonin is the brain chemical that many antidepressants regulate.

Long term - Although further studies are needed, more and more research suggests that Ecstasy causes serotonin levels to drop below normal, which impairs the brain's ability to learn, retain information and regulate mood. It appears that Ecstasy causes serotonin receptors, which allow the serotonin to fire in the brain, to shrink from overuse.

PCP - Behavioral effects can vary by dosage. Small doses produce a numbness in the extremities and intoxication, characterized by staggering, unsteady gait, slurred speech, and bloodshot eyes. Moderate doses (50-100mg intranasally, or 1-2mg/kg intramuscularly or intravenously), will produce analgesia and anesthesia. High doses may lead to convulsions.
Long Term - PCP is addicting; that is, its use often leads to psychological dependence, craving, and compulsive PCP-seeking behavior.

People who use PCP for long periods report memory loss, difficulties with speech and thinking, depression, and weight loss. These symptoms can persist up to a year after cessation of PCP use. Mood disorders also have been reported.

Use the link and research... its your BEST tool in the word of mind altering drugs and there effects with personal accounts and testimonies

you dont want to know

bad ones
dont do them

just don't go doing heroin to find out!!!!!!

The point of doing reports is for you to study and do your own research so you learn right, stop taking the easy way out.

look on google, or try frank

and did you know marijuana is also called Ganja

He he a little fact

Hoped it helped

Beckz =)

for heroine, you get laid back, and chilled mode.
for LSD is you trip balls.
for marijuana you get laid back and everything is funny and hungry.
for ecstasy, everything is loving and caring and everything seems right, feel very loved and loving and dancing (best drug ever)
for PCP you trip and see things

You probably shouldn't wait until the last minute to do your homework.
The people on here are not experts, go do your own research and write your own report...your health teacher could be answering this question...

they mess you up. make you lose your teeth ,body weight is changed, thought processes are changed, chemistry in the brain is affected, more violent, more mellow, they affect u in many ways.

Heroin...Highly addicting loss of motor function and thought.
LSD....loss of contact with reality..euphoria, Schizophrenia effects, hallucinogenic.
Marijuana...Euphoria, habit forming.
Ecstasy...extreme anxiety, heart rate increase, loss of memory and possible death.
PCP...highly explosive anxiety, hallucinogenic, psychopathic thoughts, loss of contact with reality possible death.

Heroin...makes you dopey, sleepy, really out of it. You can't really focus and you're kind of all over the place. A lot of people sleep while they're on it. It is considered a "downer" After you've shot up or snorted and have come down from the high, you want more because it makes you feel like you have the flu for a few days. (I have a friend who does it. I knew another girl who does it.)

Ecstasy...makes you really really happy. It brings you way way up. But the nicer thing about ecstasy is that there are no physical side effects. What it does do it takes away the seratonin (the hormone that tells your brain to be happy) over a longer term. It can cause depression or make depression worse. (I took Ecstasy a couple times and my aunt committed suicide when I was younger and we think it was because of the drugs she did.)

I'm not a really good source for any of the other drugs you listed, but I hope I helped on the other two. Please, please, please don't every get into drugs. Drug use can cause things like infertility and brain function loss and however good you think you might feel while you are high is NOT worth it. I experimented for a few months with a bunch of different things...most of them prescription narcotics, but I missed out on so much while I was living like that and I was relying on them to make me happy. Don't EVER get wrapped up in that. Please!
