A doctor can, yes.

An Emergency Room can not. At least in the US.

A private doctor can turn you away for no insurance. A hospital or a clinic however can not.

yes they can unless it's a county run hospital or they take cash patients.

Yes, it sucks but they can...unless is life threating and the person is dying.

Yup.

Hospitals can do it also. All they are responsible for is stabilizing a patient.

Of course. It's the emergency rooms that can't. At least in the U.S.

Potentially, but most will take uninsured patients if they pay up front (or at least a deposit).

yes ,when you call theme ask theme first before you make apt.

Yes they can. Reason for this is because the person without insurance won't be able to pay for their office visit. Keep in mind, only the private practice/regular doctor could do that.

ER doctors cannot. They need to treat whoever comes into the hospital's ER, it doesn't matter if the person has insurance (or not). They are required to treat all people.

By U.S. Law, if someone goes to the Emergency Room for treatment and they cannot pay, they MUST be treated. However, if you can pay...you can bet you will get a bill.

If you refer to going to a clinic...a doctor can turn away a patient because it is private practise.

I would

wat! i disagree. i think if a doctor did this to u if would interfere with your rights. If it was
a life or death situation however...

Yes as long as whatever is wrong with you is not IMMEDIATELY life threatoning...

If your like, having a heart attack and run inside a private clinic they need to help you.

They need to make sure you are stable until an ambulance arrives to take you to an emergency room that treats EVERYONE in a life threatening situation.

They will help you until the second you are stable then you are thrown out on your butt.

You need to find your own transporation home.

Afterwards they will hound you for payment of the thousands of dollars in treatment you got and if you don't pay they can ruin your life and your credit with the lawsuits and harrasment.

And people wonder why I am pro-nationalized health care...
