I think this depends on what you consider a heavy drug user. In school we were always taught that all drugs were bad and that they could kill us. We finally figured out that wasn't true.
The problem was with the advices themselves. All these above the influence commercials about drugs are a bunch of bull***t. Once people find out that the government is lying to them why should they believe anything the government has to say about drugs.
The reason young people are becoming addicted to drugs like coke, heroin, or meth is because they are some of the coolest drugs you ever do in your life. People have no clue what they are getting into when they start playing with these things. They're so good some people would rather have the drug over a life... Those drugs open pathways in the human mind that were never meant to be opened. They aren't anything more than a cruel prank on humanity.
MDMA, meth, coke, heroin, and PCP should really be avoided at all cost. Most of the other drugs but not all of them can be used responsibly if someone does their homework.
