Dont want to be depressed, dont want to take medication...?!


Question: ive had a bad day today, nothing seems worth it anymore.
most days id be happy to hide under the bed covers and wait till i feel better but today i feel worse, i thought about ending it all.
and now i hate myself so much more for even thinking about that.
i was prescribed anti depressants but stoped taking them after a week , they made me feel 10x worse.
i dont know what to do i dont want to feel like this anymore.

You didn't`t give the anti depressants time to start working. I have been through the same thing, but i tried to take my own life, but when i think back i no how stupid i was. I didn't`t want tablets, so i was referred to a councillor, i went 4 times a week at the start and now a year down the line i only go once a fortnight, unless i need to go more. The best advice will be to talk to your doctor again, tell them how you are feeling, ask if there is thing you can do for your self to make you feel better when you have a down day.

PLEASE keep positive, don`t let every thing get on top of you.
PLEASE DO NOT try and take your own life, talk to someone.

you cant just stop taking your medication like that and it probably would help. it takes a while for your body to get used to it and you probably are on the wrong ones.

Get God in your life. He is the best non-medicine anti-depressant.

ok sounds too simple but eat a small amount of chocolate, it releases the feel good hormone, take a nice hot bubble bath, and just relax, things will get better soon, try exercising 30 min a day as well. God Bless !! like the one before me said

Also prayer works too, get a relationship with Jesus Christ!

DONT STOP UR MEDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They'll work after a while! or if u wanna, use witchcraft w/a depression free spell!!!

Go back to your doctor and get different medication. Not all medication works for everyone. Also try researching ways of changing your diet, you'd be suprised how much food effects our mentality.

I've seriously been there!
For me there was like a year of my life that although i had good times when i was out with my friends etc.
When i got back home and my mind wasn't occupied with anything to do, slam! its hit me again.
Its the worst thing ever. I couldn't tell me parents 'cos they would be to concerned and my friends didn't take it seriously enough. I didn't want to even say anything on a helpline etc. because i suppose i had no REAL reason why it started.
Basically things just spiral out of control and when one normal thing goes wrong you feel like it only happens to you and although its a tiny thing it seems like another reason to not exist.
I didn't get pills or help from anyone. I just set myself a few targets. Its hard but i got over it and i can look back on it now and not have to much of a problem with it.
Basically most of the time SOMETHING triggered it. Something started getting you down and from there it went downhill. Well if thats the case you've simply got to move on. It'll take time but if it was a loss or something of the sort come to grips that are not coming back but the important things such as the memories will always be there. You'll find new people through your life that you'll learn to love.
If its bullying or any other upsetting matter again you have to just realise that it happened and that is what they wanted. Try and focus on something that you enjoy thats the main thing.
For me, i enjoy making friends, going shopping, going to music concerts and various other hobbies. So do them as much as possible! Look at life in a brighter way even if you feel down for no apparent reason. Do what you like doing the most, talking to people who make you happy. Don't listen to music or watch films that generally make you upset. Life really is a great thing although there is things that have made you down and upset its home to everything you enjoy. Focus on the positive and even if you have a shortage of money, just go out and do something. Take your bad experiances and look at them as a way to move forward. Think in a more positive attitude and slowly but surely it WILL get better. Doing something stupid is not the answer and then only upset the ones who care for you because as much as you feel there is no-one to talk to there are people who do love you. Its the most **** position to be in but work hard and its you will cheer up. I'm writing a ******* essay here because i went through it. And there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Im genuinely sorry to hear that things aren't going as you would really hope,but please don't do anything rash.I promise you things will get better eventually.I'll try and make this brief.One week on your medication isn't really long enough for them to be of much benefit.If you are getting unsavoury side effects please return to your doctor/psychiatrist to change it (the meds) they will usually find something that suits you. It maybe easy for me to say, but try and force yourself to do something you used to enjoy,it could be something as simple as crosswords or sudoku or reading a novel,this will be a good destraction from your negative thoughts.you may find you might daydream whilest doing so, but catch yourself and consentrate back on the hobby. Get into routines of doing things and eventually you will feel like your old self again.I'm no proffessional,but have walked your shoes in the past and can assure you with these tips your depression will pass. All the best.
