GALLSTONE DIET: For gallstone treatment /prevention.

GALLBLADDER DIET: For any gallbladder disease.
Also use this diet after gallbladder surgery and for any gallbladder problem.

Note: If you are in severe gallbladder pain, and especially if you also have a fever, consult your doctor immediately. If there is no fever and the pain is mild, or if many foods cause distress or discomfort, use the green soup and beet recipe until you order your gallbladder starter kit or gallbladder attack kit. Only after the discomfort has gone would you be eating a variety of foods.

DID YOU KNOW...
that lack of fat
in your diet can
also bring on a
gallbladder attack?

Fats are important but
it's the right fats that count. If you are in pain now, try the beet recipe which calls for some
flax oil.

Research shows that a balanced diet high in cis unsaturated fats
(essential fatty acids) may
reduce risk of gallstones,
especially in men.(1)

This is not a bible. Everyone reacts differently. This is a list compiled from both research and experience -- from what you, my readers or in-house patients, have told me. It is a place from which to start but the most important thing to do is to listen to your own body.

Do not avoid all fats unless you are in attack or close to attack mode. Even then, a small amount of the flax oil in the beet recipe can be helpful. Fat-free and low-fat diets can be a cause for gallbladder problems as well as too much of the wrong fats. The body needs fats. Use omega 3 oils like flax or hemp. These are both delicious on salads. Cold-pressed, extra-virgin olive oil is also recommended. Use with vinegar or fresh lemon juice.

I hope this helps!

Two grams should be fine. I personally wouldn't eat anything over 6grams of fat per serving. Ask your doctor if you're not sure.

you can eat soft foods like eggs,potatoes.soups,oatmeal,veggies,frui... ,cereal
noodles ect ect
no fatty foods like butter ,grease cooked foods, fatty meats like bacon or ham,No friedc foods
try turkey for meat or chicken boiled no skins

I agree with super man and the other responses. No more than 6 grams. And, if you know the types of fats, you know that the fats you consume should be very low in the saturated and trans types.
My ex roommate had to have the surgery and she actually cut down on her dairy alot, (she loved yogurt) and added more fiber in her diet. Still eat yogurt and cottage cheese, which I hear is very good. Cooked with olive oil and a chinese style oil I don't remember and cooked natural Chinese foods. She is doing very good these days, btw.
Best of luck to you....
