Dark brown mole on my stomach, what is it exactly?!
Question: Ever since I can remember, I've had this ugly dark brown mole/spot/freckle on my stomach (on the ribs to be exact). Mum says I've had it since I was very young, about one or two years old. My sister was teasing me, saying it would turn into cancer and I'd die, but mum said if it was cancer I probably would've died already. It's not huge, not small, pretty much in between. Depends what you describe size. What is it exactly? Is mum right about it just being a freckle? Or could it be serious? If it was cancer, I would most likely have died or it would be cancer, but mum just says don't worry about it because it's nothing. Is this true? Is my sister right of it leading to cancer? I am so scared, because I hate having my body cut open, even if I've had 6 leg operations where they cut my knee open when I was 9 years old. WHAT IS IT? PLEASE HELP!!

First things first: Ignore your sister.
Unless that spot has jagged, uneven edges that you are seeing change and grow outward, you really have nothing to worry about. I have a couple freckles/spots on my right hip that are probably exactly what you have. They've been there forever, and give me no trouble.
Is the area raised? Sometimes when you have that, you are better to have the spot burned off at the doctors office. Not because it's dangerous, but because it can be irritated by your clothes and get nasty and painful.
It's nothing, but if you are concerned, have your doctor look at it. ;)
is it growing?
if it's not, u don't have to worry.
i think it is only a birthmark.
