Bad sore throat? And painful asthma?!

Question: I have had asthma for about 7 years now and stopped taking medication 2 years ago. I have been fine since then but in the last week or so I have had reaaaaly bad wheezes. Also my throat burns when I swallow.... And its very painful to cough...
Any suggestions?

OK ! my sister also regally gets bad sore thoats, and this is what she does; a throat sweet every 2 hours, no orange juice, honey and lemon drink twice a day, AND NO SHOUTING!
