Is your mind too busy to let you sleep?!

Question: Do you ever find yourself thinking too much?I always find that as soon as I go to bed I will start thinking of something and questions will arise from it and eventuallyI just cant get to sleep until I have the answers!
It may sound a bit mad but ive had a few of my friends say that it happens to them and I was just wondering if it happend to anyone else?
So really the question is-Is your mind too busy to let you sleep?
thanks for any answers you can give me!

All the time. The absolute worst ones are when you start thinking about things you can never find the answer to, such as 'what is beyond the universe' or 'what happens after you die' keeps you up all bloody night!

good evenning, yep, your mind is on a sort of mini adrenalin rush when this happens, especially if you have had products containing caffene reccently, it is not an actually physical unable ness not to be able to get to sleep, unless caffine is envolved, it is just a frame of mind where your brain doesnt register as being tired and would rather do other things

this may sound a bit silly but its true

hope this helps

Clearing your mind on going to bed can sometimes be a mammoth task. Or is it really? .... I cope with this by giving myself express permission to think of nothing ... turn that into the blackness of the room and let your mind fill with the black around you, do not allow anything else to enter your minds eye ... it's a big discipline and hard to follow, hence why people have so many sleepless nights. The big trouble with going to bed is that it is an ideal opportunity to think about your life's little quandaries ... in fact, space to do nothing else. Turn the worry into black ... and let the darkness soothe your every worry and fear. It does work ...

yes it is tonight..big day at work tomorrow..and a date tomorrow night..
i take kalms..natural relaxer that promotes natural sleep..sometimes they work sometimes they dont..

Yes its so sick...even when im tired i cant stop thinking about things...and i can never go to sleep. if u find a cure let me know!

ya, i have a really hard time sleeping. my doctor gave me a preciption to make me fall asleep quickly and nicely.

no its no a drug! and its safe but i forget what its called

yes! I get this everynight!

ways I try to get around it is by
a download on my ipod as I try to fall asleep by www.pzizz.com which means I am listening to soemthing calming insted of letting myself think, if I am listening to something and paying it my attention, there are fewer, if any questions.

I also wait until I am feeling tierd, if I am not, I dont try to sleep.

I also dim the lights and read something like the paper of something black and white- not a magazine!

Or have the news on, bbc news 24 droneing on in the background with the room in darkness is really very sleep provoking! and again, listening to something rather then my own head prevents any questions or alleast reduces them.

And then theres dietry stuff': no caffine within 9 hours of sleeping, that includes coffee, tea/green tea, coke/diet coke (unless its caffine free) chocolate.... red bull...check the labels! they all have stimulants and caffine in! and a glass of warmed milk can help you feel drowsy- just dont add any sugar, honey or other sweetener.
