Question: Why do adults suck their finger in the open. Don't they worry what people think? I find it very strange when an older person sucks their thumb. Leave it to babies. When a baby sees an older person sucking their thumb, i wonder what they think.

well when they suck their thumbs they are in a state of regression and they act really like a baby. most adults act in a childish and infantile way and it passes off as adulthood unfortunately
i used to know this guy must have been in his 50s and when u looked at him you could see the baby in him - i'm glad i didn't live with him i'd always be changing his nappy and he's always be throwing his toys outta his pram - talk about wasted years

ive never done that! but for some reason, when im thinking hard i start stroking my face/chin/eyebrows. when i realise what im doing i stop. i must look like a monkey. very annoying habit.

Well actually my fourth child was always a very nervous child and to this day she still is. she is gentle and easy on my soul but will always be a very nervous little person even though she's now 24. When she came off the breast fully she would put just the very tip of her thumb in her mouth when playing with her younger baby brother (i was a long term feeder) To this day i very very occasionally see her do it still. She's my botacelli angel and i tell her it often. She was the fourth born but is beautiful on the outside AND the inside! I would never change her or her beauty for anything as she has brought such enlightenment to my life. And whether she sucks the tip of her thumb or not, to me is irrelevant. It's the person that's important, the Human beings themselves and NOT other people who are so full of judgement they miss the beauty. If today is my very last day on this planet then i truly know i am loved! Let's live and let live, Our lives are short enough already.
Yes, it is disgusting. Sometimes they do it for comfort, kind of like if they have issues or don't realize they are doing it. Other times they do it to entice the opposite sex-think about fetishes such as watching a lollipop being eaten or like the people who like to play roles of being an adult baby. There are many contributing factors but each person that does it is different.
It is a habit. If an adult sucks their thumb its because they didnt grow out of the habit when they were younger. And I dont think its a bad thing, I'm sure there are ALOT of adults that do it but noone knows because its noone elses business :)

yes but it may be some mental problem with them because no matured person will even think of doing any funny activity due to which he has to feel insulted.
