Problem with waking up early??!

Question: i have a serious problem with getting up early, and i'm pretty sure it goes beyond just being tired & not wanting to get up. i have to wake up at 6:30 every morning to go to 9th grade, and i'm literally in a daze most of the day because i have to get up so early. this has hugley impacted me socially because i can't be myself. i just can't, i'm too tired. it doesnt matter what time i go to bed, i always have the same problem. when i wake up later on the weekends i am a different person.. i have energy and am myself. i was so tired on a friday night i was at a basketball game and couldnt think clearly and was like shivering like you would when you're cold, but i wasn't cold. my eyes wanted to close. this definetley did not help me make friends with any of the people at the guys house we went to after the game..maybe its just like social anxiety.. i dont know but i'm thinking of going to online highschool and getting the social outlet from somewhere else. i'm just scared whtppl willthink

It's partly due to your age. Adolescents need much more sleep than adults. However, the school day was created when education became formalized during the industrial revolution after child labor laws were passed. They removed all these children workers from the factories and then didn't know what to do with them, so they created the education system. They modelled it on a typical factory day, and even made the schools to resemble factories, to prepare the kids for their futures as factory workers. Recent research into child psychology, sleep studies, and cognition all agree that adolescents require more sleep than the system currently allows them to get. Sucks, but maybe you can work to change it. Start getting people behind the idea that the school day has to be reformed. In the meantime, set aside time for naps. You body and brain need them desperately.

dont sleep forever

i know what you mean online high school is a great option its what i do and i was in depression cuz of school and now i feel way better.

You should proabably ask a real doctor about this, there are likely medicines for it. It seems like something one of my neighbors had, and he was treated and was fine as long as he took the meds.

Go to a doctor and get checked out...
You may have a metabolic imbalance, or some other issue that could be corrected.
Try magnesium and calcium supplements...

i have the same proublem i go to bed early and when its night time i go to bed early to thats why people dont like slepping over my house cause i go to bed to early its so annoying

Zzzz.. try take an afternoon nap. I always do dat. I need to wake up at 6:30 too!

Okay, so this is what you do. Measure the amount of time that you sleep on the weekends when you sleep in and feel great. That is the amount of time you should start sleeping EVERY night no matter what. This could be 8 hours to 11 hours depending on the person. I'm on that needs about 10 hours to get that satisfied feeling in the morning. Now the trick to getting up early, is training your body to wake up at the same time every morning naturally. This means even getting up early on the weekends. (Once you get into the swing of things you will be able to sleep in longer on the weekends without it affecting your school cycle). So say you need 10 hours of sleep and you need to get up every morning at 6:30am, then you should start getting to bed by 8:30 as much as possible. Do this for about a month and sooner or later it will start to come naturally. Ive gotten to the point where my eyes open just seconds before my alarm goes off no matter how early it is as long as I got the number of hours of sleep my particular body needs. This works! Trust me! Good luck!
