When you donate blood, do they numb the area like they do with IV?!
Question: No, they don't. However, if you want to donate blood and are terrified of pain and needles, you can have your doctor prescribe you a numbing cream or patch (EMLA) to apply on your skin about 40 minutes before you have the blood drawn. That'll numb it up very, very well.
Best of luck, and thanks for thinking about doing a great thing like donating.

They dont numb either area...So if you can handle an IV you can handle giving blood.
No they do not. It's nothing more than a pinch.
