Headache from smoking cigarettes?!

Question: I've been a smoker for 1/2 my life, I've always limited myself to 5 or 6 per day so I am not a heavy smoker.
Last week I was sick for 2 days and did not smoke. Since I have felt better again (5 days), I get a small headache everytime I smoke a cigarette and I cant figure out why. I have smoked for 17 years and never got headaches before from smoking. I always drink lots of water so I know it is not a dehydration issue

Does anyone know the possible reasons for this?

I smoked for 10 years and for the last year of smoking, I began getting serious migraine headaches almost every single day. The Dr.'s couldn't explain it to me after much testing. I tried pain medication, antidepressants (even though I wasn't depressed) and then the rescue medications like imitrex. I changed my diet and began drinking more water. Nothing worked. I finally quit smoking and have not had a migraine since. The only explanation that I can give is that even though mentally I did not want to quit, my body was telling me that it was time:) Hope this helps.

maybe you should stop killing yourself by buying cigarettes.

its probably because you stopped for 2 days and started again

Have you had your blood pressure checked? Smoking with high blood pressure can cause some people to have headaches.

Smoking deprives the brain of oxygen. When you quit for even a few days your brain relies on the extra oxygen..
If you can remember back when you had your first smoke, you probably got a headache then also...

Did you eat beforehand?

Also, have you ever stopped briefly like this before?, maybe in that small amount of time that you didn't smoke, your body grew intolerate to smoking. Do you still get cravings? Maybe your body doesn't need them any more.

I'm not going to suggest going the the doc, they won't give you an answer on having an easier smoking life lol. However, I would suggest that you eat beforehand. =)

Just want to let you know that one cigarette takes away one minute of yourlife. And evry cig makes a huge difference. I wouldn't be surprised if you just dropped dead while reading this. And cigarettes totally mess up your lungs. It makes them black. U can also get lung cancer by smoking. so DONT DO IT!!!!!!!!!

QUIT SMOKING

I'm an ex smoker, and if you were sick and quit for the 2 days, honestly there was no reason to even start again.........

When I quit, I put the cig. money in a jar every week, and have been vacationing every since.......................for the last 15 years...........and have been having more fun than what that white stick gave me.................. think about it just a little??
