Missing joint?!

Question: do I have a missing joint in my pinky?

it does a kind of, snapping motion when i go to move it back, contrary to the movements of my other fingers. Both pinkies do this. ..my ringfinger and pinky finger also move simultaneously. Am I missing a joint in my pinky?
Just wondering.

No i have the same thing, im pretty sure it means ur double jointed.

at 1st i thought this was about joints that you smoke...lol

no i dont think u are. mine does it too. and my ringfinger and pinky move simutaneously also. i think everyones does

If you can flex and extend your finger, you are not missing a joint. "Double jointed" is also a misleading term since it does not mean that you have two joints, but rather that there is a looseness in the ligaments which allow for hyperextension. The snapping motion when you move it back is probably the tendon not moving smoothly through the ligaments that keep the tendon and joint in place. If it is not painful, there is nothing to worry about.

The reason that your ring and pinky fingers move simultaneously is that they are both fed impulses from the brain by the ulnar nerve, so both the fingers get the signal to move at the same time. I dont think there is anybody that I have ever seen that can flex the pinky without flexing the ring finger as well. It is all completely normal.

Only joints I know about are class c!,sorry,I couldn't resist!,hope your pinky's ok,babe,x.
