Overdose on NyQuil? HELP PLEASE.?!
Question: I'm 15 and 5'8 weighing in at 140 lbs and I think I took too many Nyquil pills :\ I'm freaking out and I don't have the box because my cousin just told me to go take them out of her purse. Noones home but me and Im getting a little dizzy! How many pills would I have needed to take to have a overdose or worse. PLEASE HELP FAST!

REALAX!!!!!!!! ur not going to overdose and i took once 18 pills and all taht happened was threw up, i've been there drink a lot of water if the doctor is impossible! i know ur scared but u'll be fine

Oh crap!! Well how many did you take???? The reg dose is probably 2 pills....so If you took anymore than 4 I would call 911. But I really dont know Im not a doc or a pharmasict...Maybe you should call a pharmacist like Rite aid and ask to speak to one and ask them!! Hurry up and Call!!
you're probably fine if you took less than 5 or 6, but be safe and call the doc

You would need to take several to do any damage. Why don't you tell us how many you took. Anyway, have you take it before? For how long? All of that will make a difference regarding overdose. I note you have yahoo im, I sent you one, please login and respond so we can discuss this.
The normal maximum for acetaminophen per day is 65 mg/kg/24hrs or 4g/day, whichever is less.
Work out which type of pills you took, how many mgs of acetaminophen per pill they have, add up the total, and if you've had more than 4g in 24 hours, or if you've had more than 65mgs for each kg of weight, then call 911 IMMEDIATELY.

calm down. its not a perscription. its just for a cold. you will be okay until the morning. i think a good idea would be to call the doctor or go to rite aid. you will probably be a little drowzy tonight. but you will sleep well. good luck:]
Just call the poison control center, but I really don;t think 4 of those will do any harm. If you are dizzy you are probably high from the alcohol in it. They will ask you what kind you took....never take pills that YOU do not see the box for and KNOW what you are taking.
The active ingredient in NyQuil with any real danger is acetaminophen (an analegesic). A pill contains about 325mg, so four pills is 1300mg. Toxicity really only occurs above 150mg per kilogram of body weight. You weigh roughly 64kg. That means you have around 20mg of acetaminophen per kilogram of body weight. That is well below toxic levels. The dizzy effect is simply the effect of a larger than normal dose. However, if you are worried, I suggest you call a doctor, medical help line, or your local poison centre. Mention to them the drug you have taken, how much and how long ago, and any symptoms. They will give a far more accurate assessment of your situation.
