I have really bad emetophobia? (fear of throwing up)?!


Question: well i wanted to know if there is anyway to prevent throwing up cuz i never wanna throw up again in my life..please help itz ruining my eatin and everything..

well you aren't just going to throw up randomly. You need to be sick, or drink too much alcohol, or have a lot of things mixing in your stomach that don't go well together.

Eat whatever you ate before, that hasn't made you throw up.

Throw up a few times and get over the phobia.

Don't eat if you feel sick, or have nausea.

I'm not sure if there is, but i know you can try and help your stomach with green or regular tea.
Acid (like in fruit and tomato sauces) aren't that good for it, could make you stomach upset.
But even thought you are scared of throwing up it is a healthy thing and it is your body's way of getting ride of something bad, so don't eat anything harmful or just be more careful.

Only bulimics enjoy throwing up. Nobody else likes it or wants to do it. I hate and fear it too, although when it has happened, I always feel better afterward...it's more the anticipation of knowing it's going to happen that bothers me than the actual act.

Don't focus on it.

There's such a feeling of a loss of control when you vomit. You can't hold it back, and your eyes tear and your nose runs, and it tastes terrible. Vomiting used to be my most hated thing to do, and then I got serious digestive diseases and I was vomiting constantly. It got that I could just toss them off and not miss a beat. Try to stay relaxed and not hold your breath. Let it come up naturally, and don't tense up. Life has a way of throwing us a curve sometimes. Good luck.

OK i also hate throwing up. It may be from your eating habbits do not eat so fast and wait 20sec. to chew and then take a bite.Thus doing this you will no get a tummy ake as fast :( or not one at all.

There is no way of preventing this from happening, you need to see a therapist if this is effecting your eating habits and your life. Or you can try to figure out why this fear started and work on that.

don't let this ruin your life it nearly did mine. you need to see a therapist. I too had this problem still do to an extent. I was too skinny as a kid because I wasn't eating. the only thing that I still do is avoid anyone with a stomach flu with the exception of my immediate family.

I hate to throw up too. In fact I hate it so much that I pretty much trained my body to handle things differently. If I eat something bad or get the flu, in such a way that most people would throw up, I get diarrhea instead. I don't know exactly how I did it other than pure determination not to throw up, but there you have it.
